These original designs are inspired by my love of animals...even a couple who live in my home! All illustrations were created by me, at Just SO Design Seattle, in my office that also serves as a play room for my three boys. We base our style in minimalist designs and are suitable for everyone. Little Owl Children's Book
Little Owl was inspired by Rocky, the saw-whet owl who was discovered stowed away in the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in 2020. Like Little Owl, Rocky was cared for and returned to his forest home. Our Little Owl lives in the Great Green Forest with his mother, brother, and sister. He is very happy…except at night when Mother puts them to bed. He always has trouble falling asleep because his siblings keep him awake. Little Owl longs for a home of his own and for adventure. Jack is a well-loved dog who doesn't like to play in the rain. On this rainy day Jack finds himself looking for indoor activities to keep him busy, but nothing does the trick until he realizes he's not the only one looking for something fun to do on a rainy day. This sweet story reminds us all that there is joy in love, family, and play, even when things don't seem at their best. When this book was written and published Jack was 17 years old and had been my companion his whole life. Just before printing Jack left us and our family of 5 humans and 4 other dogs after living a long and happy life. We miss him dearly and are so happy to be able to share him with you.
